We’ve reached the end – hurrah!

This week I hit a major landmark in my lessons: the end of Suzuki Book 1. That’s right, you heard it here first: Minuet no. 2 is in the bag.

Okay well that’s a slight exaggeration. But after we finished playing (all the way through, both repeats) Kaia asked “Do you have book 2?”

Why yes, yes I do. It was all I could do not to hop up and do a happy dance around the music stand.

Woohoo – two years and I’m finally staring the end of Suzuki one in the eye. I didn’t bring Suzuki 2 with me, so Kaia pulled out her copy of Book 2 and off we went…

(Cellists this one’s for you)

…Straight into Long, Long, Ago.

Sigh 🙂

Guess there’s nothing left to do but kick up my heels and:

We also spent a little time this week working on my vibrato – which needs all the help it can get. I call it “practicing my ambulance impression.” How’s your vibrato going? What’s your favorite vibrato exercise?
