If the subway has a song, I’d like to think it’d be played by a cello

Ryan Tate over at Gawker posted about this awesome site that turns the trains on the NY subway lines into a pizzicato, well, song:

The song of the Subway

Conductor

The site is created by Brooklyn resident Alexander Chen who describes the how he did it on his blog. There are also some great suggestions from the comments section (ha, imagine that, a constructive string of comments on the usually contentious interwebs) from opening the site on multiple tabs simultaneously to more technical aspects of the design and implementation that I’ll trust to Mr. Chen to parse.

I’ve got it open while I’m posting and I have to say that it took me a while to get ‘into’ it, but it’s the perfect background for surfing and, well, blogging.

Pretty cool stuff, thanks Alexander!
