C Major, a French Folk Song, and Building More Badass Dendrites

Good lesson, although I still find it a bit frustrating that I never seem to play as well in my lesson as when I’m at home. Maybe there’s a bit of anxiety about playing around another person; although, I have no problems with having O around while I’m practicing. I’m also realizing that I am nowhere near tempo with the French Folk Song. Kaia emphasized the importance of accuracy over speed initially but I can’t help wanting to get up to speed. My assignments this week:

  • Memorize, really memorize, the French Folk Song and try to build up the tempo.
  • Practice C Major scale in addition to D major including arpeggios.
  • Keep working on the “Grandmother, Grandfather” variation of TTLS.
